On June 3, 2008, Young Jeezy cut “My President,” a tribute to then-presidential nominee Barack Obama. At last night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, Obama sent some love the rapper’s way, working his name into a comedy routine about his plans for the next four years.
“In my first term I sang Al Green,” Obama said (video below). “In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy.”
“Michelle’s like, ‘Yeah!’” he added, earning big laughs from the audience and a grin from the first lady. “I sing that to her sometimes.”
